India’s representative at Miss Asia Pacific 2013, Srishti Rana won the coveted beauty pageant title defeating 49 competitors, here, on Wednesday.India managed to keep the crown within the country as 21 -year old Srishti Rana who hails from Faridabad, was crowned by her reigning Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 Himangini Singh Yadu from India.
Srishti Rana was also awarded the Best National Costume award at the run up to the final day of the pageant which also included talent showcase round. Rana had worn a mermaid dress made of peacock feathers signifying India’s national bird, peacock.
Bollywood actress, Dia Mirza had made an entry into the film industry after she won the Miss Asia Pacific title in the year 2000.
After her receiving the crown Srishti said, "This is a dream come true! I am very proud of myself right now and still can't believe that I have won the crown. I have a long list of people to thank for their support but to name a few; I would want to thank God, my family, friends, Mr. Vineet Jain- MD Times Group and the Miss India Organization for their endless support. This wouldn't have been possible without any of them. I am so delighted at this moment".
Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. compared Srishti with the likes of Dia Mirza, Zeenat Aman, Namrata Shirodkar and Tara Anna Fonseca who had also won this coveted title. He added, “ It's a moment of triumph for every Indian. My heartiest congratulations go out to Srishti for this enormous achievment. Miss India organization strives for the best talent in the country to be showcased on an international platform."
