Former India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has made a startling revelation that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim had once offered the entire Indian cricket team one car each as reward if would beat Pakistan in the Austral-Asia Cup final in 1986.
According to Zee News, Vengsarkar said that Dawood visited the Indian dressing room after the pre-match press conference and introduced himself as a businessman. He offered a Toyota Corolla to each member of the Indian team. Pakistan had won the game by one wicket.
During this incident, Kapil Dev was present who apparently was unaware of who Dawood was and had asked the latter to leave the dressing room.
